Old Dominion will honor Rick Lovato of the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles at halftime of the Monarchs' March 1 basketball game against Florida Atlantic, Lovato said Tuesday.
A 4-year starter at ODU as long snapper, Lovato was perfect on every snap in the Eagles' Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. He is the first ODU alumnus to play in the NFL championship game, and obviously, the first to win a Super Bowl ring.

"I'm just ready to share this moment with the entire ODU community," he said via text message.
