CHANDLER, Ariz. -- The Old Dominion field hockey team was honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) this week for earning the National Academic Team Award, given to all teams that achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the fall semester.
Brown University registered the highest team GPA for the fall semester, while Hofstra, VCU, Bryant, American, Ball State and Temple rounded out the top five.
The Lady Monarchs posted a 3.36 GPA in the fall semester of 2016, while 12 student-athletes made the Dean's List including: Megan Byas, Julia Demeester, Lacey Frazier, Danielle Grega, Erin Huffman, Jess Miller, Kristie Robles, Kealsie Robles, Carrie Sensenig, Ashleigh Thomas and Kristen Vick.
