NORFOLK, Va. - The Old Dominion women’s tennis team (8-1) defeated Maryland (1-4) by a 4-0 score at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on Friday afternoon. All six Monarchs won their first set in singles and ODU had the lead in the second set of all three matches that went unfinished due to the Clinch Rule.
The Monarchs have now won five-straight matches and are one of five teams receiving votes in the latest ITA Top 25 Poll.
Friday afternoon marked the fourth victory over Power 5 schools for ODU this season.
