NORFOLK, Va. -- The Old Dominion baseball team heads to Charlotte, North Carolina to take on the Charlotte 49ers in a critical three-game weekend Conference USA series at Robert & Mariam Hayes Stadium this weekend.
The weekend series marks 7th, 8th, and 9th meetings between these two teams, as Old Dominion is 3-3 against the 49ers since the series began in 2014. Last season, the Monarchs won the series finale between the teams at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex with an explosive 15-1 performance. Zach Rutherford, Connor Myers and Jason McMurray each knocked in three runs, while Rutherford, Myers, McMurray and senior Josh Eldridge had three hits each.
