Erin Huffman scored three goals and No. 15 Old Dominion routed Providence 6-1 in the Big East field hockey opener Friday at Lafayette College's Rappolt Field.
The game, originally scheduled for Norfolk, was relocated because of the threat of Hurricane Florence.
Old Dominion (7-0) scored three goals in each half and outshot the Friars 25-4. The six goals were the most by the Monarchs since they tallied six against Georgetown last year.
While senior Kealsie Robles is playing with the U.S. national team in Japan, Lacey Frazier started in goal. The sophomore from Princess Anne high made one save.
