NORFOLK, Va. – The No. 57 nationally ranked Old Dominion women’s tennis team fell by a 5-2 score to No. 37 Florida State of the ACC in the 2016 season opener, which took place outside at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Lady Tennis Monarchs split the first two doubles matches with FSU, before falling to the Seminoles in the final doubles match, 7-5, giving Florida State an early 1-0 advantage.
ODU freshman Natalya Vlasova won her first singles match of the year and of her young career against Gabriella Castaneda in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4.
