Old Dominion turned in a dominating defensive performance Friday, holding Quinnipiac without a shot or a penalty corner in a 3-0 Big East field hockey victory at the Quinnipiac Field Hockey Stadium.
Rebecca Birch, Ilse Westera and Riley Taylor scored goals for the No. 25 Monarchs (10-5, 3-3).
"Our defenders were covering for each other really well and preventing second-half opportunities for their forwards," coach Andrew Griffiths said about the defense.
The Monarchs led 2-0 at halftime.
ODU outshot the Bobcats 15-0 and held an 11-0 advantage in penalty corners.
Kealsie Robles and Lacey Frazier combined for the shutout in goal.
