Like so many, I was touched by the heartbreaking Facebook video of Keaton Jones, the middle school boy who was bullied in rural Tennessee.
After a particularly bad day at school, he vented as his mom recorded him. Kids make fun of his nose, say he's ugly and that he has no friends. Why, he wanted to know, are they so cruel to him?
The video has been viewed by millions.
This is Keaton Jones, he lives in Knoxville and he has a little something to say about bullying.pic.twitter.com/coyQxFp33V

A day or so later, I saw a story about an old friend named David Sykes that reminded me of the time five decades ago, when I was a seventh-grader and was bullied, too.
