NORFOLK — Ryne Moore struck out nine over seven innings Tuesday as Old Dominion routed Norfolk State 11-0 in a nonconference baseball game at the Bud Metheny Complex.
Moore (1-0) gave up three hits without a walk for the Monarchs, who pounded out 17 hits and have 35 in their past two games.
Erik Stock and Andy Garriolo hit back-to-back homers in the second inning. Stock, a Greenbrier Christian grad, finished 5 for 5 with two RBIs and Garriola batted in four runs.
Hickory High grad Hunter Gregory completed the shutout, giving up two hits and striking out five over two innings.
