Old Dominion’s Michael McGee (125 pounds), Kevin Budock (149), Larry Early (157) and Tim Young (197) advanced to the Mid-American Conference wrestling finals with semifinal wins Friday at the Constant Center.
McGee and Early secured spots to the NCAA championships. With a victory in the finals, Budock and Young will join McGee and Early in Pittsburgh.
In semifinal matches, McGee defeated Missouri’s Dack Punke 7-1, Buddock defeated Ohio’s Alex Fagan 4-3, Early decisioned Central Michigan’s Logan Parks 3-1 and Young took out top seeded Wyatt Koelling of Missouri 3-1.
In the finals, Young will face Buffalo’s Brett Perry, Early will meet Missouri’s Jarrett Jacques, McGee matches up with Central Michigan’s Drew Hildebrandt and Buddock is set to wrestle Mizzou’s Brock Mauller.
