NORFOLK — Michael McGee beat Central Michigan’s Drew Hildebrandt 5-2 in the 125-pound final Saturday, and Old Dominion will send three automatic qualifiers to the NCAA Championships after finishing fourth in the Mid-American Conference championships at the Constant Center.
Sa’Derian Perry and Larry Early will join McGee in Pittsburgh, and at-large bid will be announced Tuesday. The seclection show is Wednesday.
Perry (141) pinned Kent State’s Cory Simpson in 2:50 in a fifth-place match before topping Central Michigan’s Andrew Marten 3-0 for the automatic qualifying spot. Four NCAA spots were open for that weight class.
Early fell to Missouri’s Jarrett Jackques 3-1 in the 157-pound final but had earned an NCAA bid with his semifinal win Friday night.
