GREENVILLE, N.C. – After 110 minutes on an 80 degree day at Stewart Johnson Stadium, the Old Dominion women's soccer team (2-2-1) played East Carolina (4-0-1) to a 0-0 draw on Sunday night in front of 461 fans.
Despite outshooting the Pirates 11-3 and holding a 4-2 advantage for corners in the opening 45 minutes, the Monarchs and ECU remained level, 0-0, at halftime.
ODU outshot East Carolina in the second half, 6-5, but the two teams remained scoreless after 90 minutes.
ECU held a 5-1 advantage in shots and a 4-1 advantage in corners for the two overtimes; however, the Monarchs’ defense pitched their second shutout of the season.
