NORFOLK, Va. – Each year, wide-eyed freshmen arrive on-campus at universities across the country with hopes and dreams of graduating with a degree to jumpstart their professional careers. Collegiate student-athletes arrive with the additional opportunity to continue playing their respective sports, some with hopes of “going pro” after their eligibility is exhausted. Old Dominion University student-athletes are known for their athletic achievements throughout their high school and college years; however, for the majority, graduation means an end to playing careers and a beginning to professional careers.
In an effort to celebrate post-graduation accomplishments in the professional aspect of life, the ODU Student-Athlete Development Team will be launching a “Monarchs Go Pro: Signing Day Program” this summer to honor student-athletes who have successfully taken the next steps to launch their professional careers.
