COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Old Dominion men's basketball team (0-1, 0-0 C-USA) commenced the 2020-21 season with an 85-67 loss at Maryland (1-0, 0-0 Big Ten) on Wednesday afternoon at the XFINITY Center (no fans in attendance).
With 6:45 to play in the opening half, a and-one pulled the Monarchs within one, 24-23. The Terps would end the first half on an 18-6 run to claim a 42-29 lead.
Maryland scored the first four points of the second half, before a three-point play trimmed Old Dominion's deficit to 14, 46-32, at the 18:00 minute mark; however, the Monarchs would not get any closer the rest of the way.
