The Old Dominion Monarchs improved to a 23-6 overall record after defeating a feisty Florida Atlantic team 69-64 on Thursday. Throughout the game, the Monarchs dominated inside the paint (30 points) which led to Trey Porter’s big night; he shot 9-12 from the field on his way to a career-high 29 points and brought down 12 rebounds, which adds another double-double to his resume.
ODU led by 14 at the end of the first half (31-17), but the Owls bombarded the Monarchs in the second half with 47 points and even took a 40-39 lead with 11:36 left in regulation.
