NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion shutout Charlotte for the second consecutive game to win the weekend series over the 49ers with a 3-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at the Bud Metheny Complex.
John Wilson threw seven shutout innings and Vinnie Pasquantino hit a two-run home run in the sixth to lead Old Dominion (22-6, 7-2 C-USA) to the series-clinching victory, as ODU is now 6-0 in weekend series so far this season.
Following Wilson's seven scoreless frames, Craig Lopez came in for the two-inning save, as the Monarchs blanked Charlotte (16-12, 5-4 C-USA) for the second straight game.
