Student attendance is falling at college football stadiums around the country, and that includes programs such as Michigan, USC and Virginia Tech.
Even at powerhouse Alabama, coach Nick Saban has bemoaned the lack of students at non-conference games and that fact that so many leave early.
Attendance in the Football Bowl Subdivision has dropped to its lowest level in 22 years and that’s in part because of declining student attendance.
Why the drop?
Students’ tastes have changed. Many are into video games or watching football on TV. Some work on weekends and don’t have the time.
