NORFOLK, Va. – For the fifth consecutive year on Sept. 11, the Old Dominion University lacrosse team raised money to honor and show their appreciation to local first responders.
Led by senior Kortney Parker, the lacrosse team raised more than $1,900 to provide dinner to Firehouse #7, which is located just off campus on the corner of Hampton Blvd. and 43rd street. All additional money raised will go to the Norfolk Burn Center.
A car parade will go by the firehouse at 6 p.m.
A native of Waxhaw, North Carolina, Parker spearheaded the event.
