JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Old Dominion women's lacrosse team suffered its first conference loss of the season, falling to reigning Atlantic Sun champ Jacksonville, 16-6, on Sunday afternoon at D.B. Milne Field in Jacksonville, Florida.
Old Dominion (9-3, 2-1 A-Sun) led 3-2 early the first half and trailed, 6-5, at halftime, but a 3-0 run by Jacksonville (9-4, 4-0 A-Sun) to start the second half proved to be enough for the Dolphins, who have not lost an A-Sun game in three years in the league.
In the first half, senior Alex Danks, a Florida native, opened the scoring for ODU, firing home a free position attempt to tie the score at 1-1.
