DaVonn Griffin scored on a passed ball to break a 3-3 tie in the ninth inning as James Madison defeated Old Dominion 4-3 in a nonconference baseball game Wednesday at the Bud Metheny Complex.
The teams split a two-game series.
In the ninth, Garrett Marchand walked with one out and was replaced by pinch-runner Griffin. Griffin advanced to second and third on wild pitches by Morgan Maguire before scoring on a passed ball.
Shaun Wood, Will Morgan and Devon Adams had RBIs for the Monarchs (9-3), who will host West Virginia in a weekend series starting Friday.
