When Jacklyn Vande Poel stepped on to campus at Old Dominion four years ago, her sister was a star swimmer on the team.
Just like four years prior at West Ottawa, Vande Poel wanted to start her own path out of the shadows of big sister.
“My freshman year, I tried as much as I could not to talk to Colleen. I didn’t want to seem like the baby sister that needed anything. It lasted until second semester, then we started talking a lot, and we got really close,” Vande Poel said.
