NORFOLK, Va. - Former Old Dominion University women’s soccer defender Jackie Stroud was named the Tom Scott Award Winner, the Norfolk Sports Club announced at their luncheon on Monday. The Tom Scott Award is given to ODU's top senior student-athlete as voted on by the Norfolk Sports Club. Stroud is the first women’s soccer player to ever win the award.
“It is a great honor for Jackie to receive this award as it reflects the impact she has made on the sports fans of Norfolk,” said ODU head coach Angie Hind. “She has obviously done so well and been recognized across our conference and state of Virginia, but spending the time today with the members of the Norfolk Sports Club was fantastic and I believe highlighted what an awesome season Jackie really had this past fall.
