(WAVY) — Officials at Norfolk State and Old Dominion are monitoring Hurricane Hermine as they wait and see whether or not to play its home openers on Saturday.
ODU is scheduled to play Hampton University Saturday while Norfolk State is set to play Elizabeth City State. Both games are scheduled to kickoff at 6:00.
Officials at both universities are coming up with contingency plans because of the weather and a final decision will be made on Friday morning.
Since both schools are hosting nearby teams, postponing the games until Sunday would be logistically possible.
Christopher Newport opens its season at home on Saturday against Kean University at 1:00.
