NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion football team (1-11, 0-8 C-USA) wrapped up its regular season with a 38-22 loss against Charlotte (7-5, 5-3 C-USA) at S.B. Ballard Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Led by Stone Smartt at quarterback, the Monarchs moved the ball well and racked up 356 total yards, but they struggled to finish drives, cashing in on just two of their five redzone opportunities. Charlotte's defense got to the quarterback seven times and collected three takeaways, scooping up two fumbles and intercepting a Smartt pass.
Charlotte rushed the ball for 241 yards on the day, with running back Benny LeMay rushing for 105 yards and two touchdowns to lead the 49ers offense.
