Old Dominion freshman Cameran Nery-Strickland was named the Big East Defensive Player of the Week in field hockey, the league announced Monday.
Nery-Strickland had two assists Friday in ODU’s 4-0 victory over Temple . The First Colonial High grad also helped the Monarchs post their first shutout of the season, as the back line held Temple to three shots.
As a true freshman, Nery-Strickland has played in all 12 games, including seven starts. She leads the team in assists with six and has recorded an assist in four of the last five games.
