Fifth-ranked North Carolina scored three goals, all off penalty corners, early in the second half Sunday and went on to defeat Old Dominion 3-1 in a nonconference field hockey game.
The Lady Monarchs (4-7) dropped to 1-5 against ranked opponents this season. They also have lost three in a row overall, all on the road.
