Old Dominion got goals from four players – all after halftime – to turn back New Mexico 4-0 in a Conference USA men's soccer quarterfinal Friday at Transamerica Field.
Niko Klosterhalfen opened the scoring in the 55th minute, taking a pass from Max Wilschrey and shooting between two defenders into the back of the net.
Less than a minute later, Wilschrey made it 2-0. Hans Kroschwitz (75th minute) and Sebastien Hauret (88th) padded the lead, sending the second-seeded Monarchs (11-4-2) into Friday’s semifinals.
"I thought we played well the first half but lacked a bit composure in front of goal and didn't get that goal I thought we deserved," said ODU coach Alan Dawson.
