NORFOLK, Va. – Former ODU men’s tennis associate head coach, Sergey Avdeyev, was named the head coach of the UTSA men’s tennis team on Tuesday. Avdeyev takes over the helm of the Roadrunners after serving as the associate head coach at Old Dominion since 2016. He helped lead the Monarchs to the 2018 Conference USA Championship.
“Congratulations to Sergey for this amazing opportunity and congratulations to UTSA for making such a great hire,” said ODU head coach Dominik Mueller. “They are getting a head coach that is ready and knows what it takes to win. Sergey has proven to be one of the best assistant coaches in the country with his work and accomplishments over the past three and half years and deserves this opportunity.
