Abbie Winchester has been playing basketball since she was 6 years old, but that doesn’t stop her from excelling in the classroom.
Winchester, a junior forward on the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team, was an Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection last year. She’s maintained a high GPA despite being a part one of the more rigorous majors on campus, industrial engineering.
It’s not easy for any athlete to take on such a difficult major, as he or she’s time is limited by the sport. One may wonder why a basketball player would choose such a difficult path.
