Mike Holder’s plan for celebrating OSU’s 11th NCAA golf championship was simple. Go home and get some sleep.
“I’m tired,” Holder said, standing on an 18th green that wasn’t needed Wednesday when the Cowboys routed Alabama 5-0 at Karsten Creek, with three matches so one-sided that no match went past the 15th hole. “I’m going home and get some sleep. I’m tired.”
The NCAA Tournament has become a two-week marathon, not even counting the hours and days and weeks that go into preparation before the women’s tournament begins a seven-day run (counting a practice day), followed by the same schedule for the men.
