Just last month, Texas wanted no part of adding schools to the Big 12.
"The prudent thing to do," Texas athletic director Bill Perrin said at the conference's spring meetings, "is stay where we are."
Remain at 10. Forget expansion.
That didn't last long.
Earlier this week, the Big 12 announced it is prepared to expand, and lo and behold, the Horns are fired up. They aren't just ready to add teams. They are lobbying for their favorite. Texas leaders — not just the school's but also the state's — said Thursday that Houston will be added or no one will be added.
