West Virginia safety Karl Joseph out for season with knee injury

West Virginia safety Karl Joseph will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a right knee injury at practice this week, the team announced Wednesday.

The Mountaineers will host Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Joseph sustained the injury during a non-contact drill at Tuesday's practice, the team said.

Joseph was second on the team in tackles and had five interceptions in four games.

"I am devastated and heartbroken for Karl," said West Virginia coach Dana Holgerson. "He is a young man who has given everything he has to our football program and university over the past four years and who elected to return to WVU for his senior season to earn his degree and to be a part of something special with this team.
