STILLWATER — Daton Fix’s one-year suspension officially ended this week and the Oklahoma State wrestler is set to take the mat in the Cowboy Challenge at Gallagher-Iba Arena, a tournament OSU coach John Smith designed specifically for Fix’s return.
“He’s excited,” Smith said of Fix. “It’s been a long journey.”
Fix was suspended for one year, through last Wednesday, after testing positive for ostarine, a banned substance that is prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
An investigation revealed that Fix unknowingly ingested the substance from a water bottle at his family home. His father had mixed supplements and ostarine in the water bottle and left it in the refrigerator.
