Lindy Waters III grinned and waved at the crowd of people who lined the street to see him.
As he traveled the parade route in a pickup truck his dad drove, children dribbled basketballs around the vehicle and held a banner to introduce him. One side of the truck displayed a large photograph of Waters in his Oklahoma State basketball uniform. Attention surrounded him throughout the festivities, from the parade the morning of Aug. 15 to the final powwow Saturday night.
Waters, a junior guard for the Cowboys, earned recognition as the Indian of the Year at the 83rd annual American Indian Exposition in Anadarko.
