Former Oklahoma State golfer Viktor Hovland had himself a Sunday.
Hovland set a course record at Olympia Fields with a 9-under 61 to win the BMW Championship by two strokes. It’s a career-low round for Hovland, who birdied seven times on the back nine — seven times. Hovland finished the tournament with a 17-under 263, ahead of Scottie Scheffler and Matt Fitzpatrick at 265.
Hovland’s Sunday round was the lowest in the history of the FedEx Cup Playoff.
“Definitely has to be the best round I’ve ever played,” Hovland told CBS. “Given the circumstances — playoff event at this golf course and finish the way that I did the last nine holes was pretty special.
