While Chuba Hubbard was etching his name into Bedlam lore in Norman, his family was watching with bated breath nearly 3,000 miles north in their Sherwood, Alberta home.
Oklahoma State fans saw glimpses of the freshman running back’s world-class speed early this season, but over the last month Chuba has gone from intriguing prospect to full-blown playmaker and appears to be a future star for the Cowboys.
Starting with the Cowboys’ Homecoming win over No. 6 Texas, Chuba saw his workload increase with 80 yards on nine carries. He followed that up in Waco with 10 carries for 51 yards against Baylor.
