Vaiome Sekona, a three-star offensive lineman from Crespi High School (Encino, Calif.) and 2015 signee, will not play for the Cowboys next season and will instead enroll at Tyler Junior College (Texas) after failing to meet NCAA qualifying numbers, according to Scout.com’s Robert Allen.
Sekona originally pledged to the Cowboys in October, and later signed with the team in February. The 6-foot-4, 258 pound Sekona played both offensive and defensive line in high school, and had 22 tackles, one sack, and one touchdown off of an interception return as a senior. He was named to the first-team California Interscholastic Federation All-State team on offense and the Los Angeles Daily News All-Area team on defense.
