Underwood has always said he’s an emotional person, making sure to bring a towel to the podium in case he begins to tear up. Most of the time, the weeping is from a joyous occasion such as when he accepted the position of Oklahoma State men’s basketball coach.
Friday was not a joyous occasion. Friday was a day Underwood said he never witnessed in his 30 years as a coach. Friday, Underwood mourned.
Tyrek Coger, an incoming Cowboy who had been on campus for only 17 days, died Thursday after team workouts.
