UFC Hall of Famer and Oklahoma State wrestling alum Randy Couture is in stable condition after he had emergency surgery following a heart attack Wednesday at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles.
Couture, a former UFC heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, said Friday he suffered a heart attack due to a blood clot in his Diagonal artery caused by his “crazy think blood and normally high bad cholesterol.” The cardiac catheterization (cath) lab cleared out the clot and placed a stint in, according to the 56-year-old Couture.
The three-time NCAA All-American wrestler at OSU suffered a heart attack during a workout at his Unbreakable Performance MMA gym in West Hollywood then walked “multiple blocks” to check himself into a nearby hospital, according to his manager and lawyer Sam Spira.
