Tyron Johnson didn’t exactly make a splash in his first year as a professional football player, but he did enough to earn consideration in Year 2.
After ending the 2019 season on the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad, the former OSU playmaker has been signed by the team to a future/reserve contract.
A futures contract is just what it sounds like. The Chargers are locking up the rights to Tyron until next summer when OTAs commence so that another team can’t scoop him up in the interim. He did not see the field during his rookie season.
