Third-quarter momentum boosts Cowgirls ahead of Samford

In two of the Oklahoma State women’s basketball team’s first three games, the Cowgirls scored most of their points in the third quarter.

Another successful third quarter helped the undefeated Cowgirls beat Samford 82-62 on Thursday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

OSU ruled the third period, scoring 14 points in five minutes and securing the lead from the Bulldogs. Braxtin Miller scored six points in quick succession and added three assists.

“We really focused on guarding better,” Jaden Hobbs, a Cowgirl sophomore guard, said. “I think our defense was a lot better in the second half, definitely a lot better than the first quarter.
