When Rick Wilson was a child at an Oklahoma State wrestling dual, he approached Pistol Pete, OSU’s mascot, and asked for his autograph.
Then, he asked the man behind the costume if he could “wear his head.”
Pistol Pete’s head is 45 pounds though, far too heavy for the young Wilson. Pete instead lowered the head over his shoulders and allowed Wilson to look around while he helped him wear it.
“The first thing that gets you is the aroma that’s inside of the head,” Wilson said.
