DJ Jones is not a morning person. Waking up at 5 a.m. daily for workouts at 6 has taken its toll.
“Honestly, I set a good five alarms just to make sure I get up on time,” Jones said.
Although he isn't a fast riser, he's proven to be plenty quick elsewhere. Jones, No. 10 in The Oklahoman's Super 30 rankings of the state's top 2019 recruits, flies around the football field as a Tulsa Washington corner. Even his commitment came quickly; three days after Oklahoma State offered Jones in February, he committed.
The offer came on Jones' birthday.
