SHAWNEE — Tanner Sparks thought the plan was to pitch, but that might have changed.
Sparks, Shawnee's star infielder and pitcher, is soon headed to Oklahoma State, where he committed a few years ago as a right-handed pitcher.
But then his bat came along the past two years.
Sparks delivered a crazy good spring while leading the Wolves to an undefeated season, third straight Class 5A state championship and No. 1 ranking in national polls.
He batted better than .500 and led the state with 12 home runs and 81 RBI. He was also perfect on the mound with 10 wins and a 0.
