As reported by Pistols Firing Blog and later confirmed by Mark Cooper of the Tulsa World, Glenn Spencer will not return as defensive coordinator in 2018. The report comes two weeks after Oklahoma State’s 30-21 win over Virginia Tech in the Camping World Bowl.
Spencer has been with the Oklahoma State staff since 2008 and has served as defensive coordinator since 2013. This past season, Oklahoma State ranked 79th in total defense and 85th in scoring defense out of 129 teams.
In 2013, Spencer was a nominee for the Broyles Award, given to the nation’s top assistant coach.
