Brett Standlee allowed no runs.
During his longest pitching appearance, he gave the Oklahoma State baseball team the foundation for its 13-2 victory against Missouri State on Tuesday in Allie P. Reynolds Stadium.
Standlee, a right-handed redshirt freshman from Jenks, threw 93 pitches through the first seven innings. He had eight strikeouts and permitted six hits.
Before Tuesday, Standlee hadn’t pitched more than three innings for OSU (10-5).
“I normally focus on the mitt,” Standlee said. “I try to block everything out.”
One season ago, Standlee watched, unable to make a difference, as his teammates stood on the mound and threw strikeouts.
