CLEARWATER, Fla. - No. 3 Oklahoma improved to 7-0 on the season with a pair of wins Thursday in the St. Pete/Clearwater Elite Invitational.
In the Sooners' first game Thursday, Caleigh Clifton and Sydney Romero had big days at the plate as OU belted No. 18 Kentucky, 9-1.
Clifton homered, tripled and walked twice. The second baseman from Wayne scored three runs in the game and had two RBI.
Third baseman Sydney Romero homered and doubled while knocking in four runs against Kentucky. She also scored twice.
Starting OU pitcher Mariah Lopez (3-0) allowed just two hits, including a solo homer, in the game.
