A handful of parallels exist between OSU's Weeks 1 and 2 games, especially regarding the run game.
Through three quarters of the Cowboys’ season-opening win over Central Arkansas, the running backs averaged less than four yards per carry. However, a productive fourth quarter bolstered that total to a 4.8 mark.
“We ended up averaging almost five yards a carry,” coach Mike Gundy said postgame. “But we still need to run the ball better.”
But through two quarters of OSU’s matchup at Arizona State at Mountain America Stadium on Saturday night, not many improvements from Week 1 were visible.
