Former Oklahoma State offensive lineman Russell Okung is on the move. On Wednesday, a deal was announced that will send him to the Carolina Panthers to play under new head coach Matt Rhule.
Okung was traded by the Los Angeles Chargers for fellow Pro Bowl offensive lineman Trai Turner. Okung spent the last three seasons in Los Angeles protecting the blind side of Philip Rivers. Now he’ll attempt to do the same for Cam Newton.
Okung missed the majority of last season after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism but returned to the starting lineup in Week 8 and played six games over the final half of the season.
