Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford argues with an official during a Big 12 men's basketball game between Oklahoma State and Kansas on Feb. 7 in Gallagher-Iba arena.
This offseason, the NCAA Men’s Basketball Rules Committee approved more than 25 rule changes, primarily designed to increase the pace of play and create freedom to move on offense.
The main changes include reducing physicality because of hand checking, reducing physical post play, increasing freedom of movement on offense, cracking down on moving ball screens and decreasing offensive contact with legal defenders.
Additionally, the shot clock has been reduced from 35 to 30 seconds and the five-second closely guarded count on a dribble has been removed.
